Day 46: Second rest day in Glasgow

A great, quiet day. A leisurely breakfast then buying new socks for Rich and some fresh toiletries.

We meet up with the boys and make our way to Queen Street station. Rob is off home today in time for his commitments tomorrow and we meet my friend Carolyn, who has caught the train here from her home in Edinburgh. Rob gives me some Henry Normal books as a belated birthday present and parting gift.

Carolyn, Rich, Tom and I all head off to the Glasgow Museum of Modern Art but our hearts aren’t in it, so we adjourn to Costa’s.

Next, it’s a new experience for me and Tom - we go to Wagamama for lunch.

Carolyn shows me her daughter Becky’s wedding photos. She looks beautiful and it’s a very happy occasion. All too soon, it’s time for Carolyn to go home and we promise to let her know if we’re coming back via Edinburgh.

We go to the hotel swimming pool - the first time any of us have been to a pool since before lockdown. It’s been like being back to normal, an oasis before the testing times ahead. Still, there’s new boots to look forward to tomorrow.
